Certainly, this is not the first post that I had imagined. The first post was meant to be about how lovable you are in God’s eyes. How valuable you are. For far too long, this blog has sat empty and waiting. Simply waiting for my time. Bracelets have sat in my den. Simply waiting for my time. And yesterday, for some reason, it was as if God said, “Carmen, the time is now.”

While on a long drive this summer, my husband and I listened to an Eric Metaxes podcast. The discussion centered around the Planned Parenthood abortion scandal. Horrific. What else can be said?  It’s horrific.

Given that it was a long trip, I had plenty of time to think and pray, “Lord God, It feels hopeless. What can I possibly do to make a difference?” God whispered, “Pray.”

Living in a fallen world, our culture takes a warped view of life.

               Current culture says, “I’m important.”

Counter culture says, “You’re more important.”

Jesus was counter-cultural. Radical. In Mark 10:45 Jesus says,

“I did not come to be served, but to serve

and to give my live as a ransom for many.”

Jesus laid down His own life; His own freedom and His own will that His children might live.

At Two Girls and a Pearl, we believe He calls us to do the same: lay down our lives that others might live. Challenged that abortion is not the answer, challenged that babies need life, challenged that desperate mothers need hope, challenged to not look away and challenged to do SOMETHING in order to make a difference led to praying. “Lord God, what can be done? So much is broken. How to make a difference?”

I don’t pretend to have the answers, but I do believe the answer starts with humbling ourselves before God in prayer.

The world doesn’t need: more judgmental critics, condemners, haters, and complainers.

The world needs: lovers, forgivers, and truth bearers willing to offer compassion, hope and action.

I’ve created this bracelet to serve as a reminder to pray. For every bracelet sold, $5.00 will go to support Pregnancy Support Center where people offer just that: compassion and hope to hurting women. Women hurt by their own choices, hurt by men refusing to stand up to the responsibility of manhood, and hurt by society who just doesn’t care. Hope is offered to babies: Hope for life. Hope for protection. Hope for secure futures.

A Real Pearl: A Real Baby

Black Cord: We all are Guilty

Safety Pin: Safe & Secure

Many Strands: Many Needs

This bracelet is symbolic. Real genuine pearls equate to real genuine babies. Both are miraculous jewels. Both are made in unseen places. The safety pin represents exactly that: safety and security for both moms and babies. Why a black cord? We’re all guilty sinners needing grace. Who are we to cast the first stone? Finally, a cord of several strands reminds us that many hands and hearts are needed to make a difference. My hope is to inspire us to pray accordingly.

This bracelet offers one tiny way to make a difference. It may not change the world. But just maybe it will change a heart.  Join in now.  Buy your bracelet of support and begin praying today.

Lord God, You are Master Designer and Life Giver. We praise You for life.  We praise You that when we don’t know what to do, You do. You simply wait for us to ask. God, we need You… desperately. Please help us share Your love, grace and truth to hurting women living in a broken world. Rescue moms and rescue babies. Change hearts. Bring healing and bring glory to Your name. May we all live to love and serve You more, Lord Jesus.

If this bracelet and message of hope resonate with you, would you please share with your circle of friends?

I believe in the power of prayer. To help kick start things, I’m offering a STRAND OF PEARLS giveaway.  There are a number of ways to enter. Details follow. Enter now!
