Consider the Lilies…

Consider the Lilies… from my morning prayer walk.

On a prayer walk this morning, I once again considered the lilies. Tender, yet regal wildflowers bloom along the path that I tread.  Quietly, as with a Holy Spirit whisper, their beauty reminds me to not be anxious nor unnecessarily spin my wheels.

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness!” Jesus said. (Matthew 6:27-33).

I adore how Creation glorifies the Creator, echoes His message and points to His care.

As I observe and consider, I can’t help but notice the variety of wildflowers now in bloom.  Like people, the blossoms come in various shapes, sizes, colors, needs, strengths, qualities and even personalities.

Consider the lilies…

One single flower always creates a simple and elegant statement.  However, a variety of flowers growing together collectively dazzle the wooded path in a spectacular show-stopper.

Similarly, an individual Christ follower beautifies her corner of the world.  Yet when believers collectively unify in true love and adoration of Christ and true love for one another, a sensational, spectacular kingdom-building statement elicits.

Jesus knew the power of unity.  He considered.  And He prayed:

The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. John 17:22-23

For His glory, let’s unify.  Together let’s learn to love Him and better love one another.
